The Project

This May CVM launches its second major 6 week project to the Gambia. Based out of city of Fajara, the team will partner with locals and long term missionaries to see God’s hand move through the lives of the Gambian people.

The trip provides opportunities for each member to contribute with their unique skills and gifts. Below are some examples of the modules that we will be offering on this year project.

Sisters of Charity.:
Offering hope to malnourished children of the Northern Kombos, the sisters of charity have dedicated their lives to show God’s love of these precious lives. Joining along side these women of faith, we provide help with daily tasks and an abundance of special projects.

Sittanunka Development Project.:
Since Steve’s first visit in 2002, CVM began a ministry to assist with the development of this unique village on Gambia’s north bank. Partnering with village chief and elders, we have realized the implementation of basic medical kits and addressed water supply concerns with a 'to well and water' storage project.

Be an Ambassador of Christ's love living in ‘rustic’ conditions, assisting with village projects or be a part of our first youth programs building into the lives of the future generation.

Music and Recording .:
Growing the successes of 2005’s music ministry project, come speak truth and restoration through the language of music. Promoting unity, sparking ethical discussions and providing recording services to local musicians come be part of the revolution. Past experiences include everything from radio and TV appearance to collaborations with local artists and friendships that continue to grow to this day.

Social Ministries .:
As a new addition to this year’s project, social ministries focuses on developing friendships within the community. Experience the warmth of the Gambian people as your help in daily tasks, engage in provoking conversation and laugh at jokes you don’t understand. The simplicity cuts to the heart of our mission, know and make Christ’s love known.

Teaching .:
The Gambia presents a unique opportunity to come teach the gospel in a classroom setting. Through stories and classroom discussions share the truth and hope to the coming generation.

Football Camps .:
The world’s most popular sport runs wild. Home to the 2005 African U-17 champions, “the Scorpions”, a game of pick-up will always draw a crowd. Join with long term missionaries in the Gambia Toni and Rita as we host week long sport camps teaching both skills on and off the field.
